Picture help?
You recently helped me with a picture for The Lily Pad and made it have less KB's so that it loaded faster.
I wanted to know how I could make a photo have less KB's. Would you look at my board (Susa's Sunroom). You can just click on my signature and then look at the top picture.
Is it possible to do a photo like this with fewer KB's? How would I do it, so I can do it myself.

Yes you can optimize photo's as well. My first option is always Photo Filtre simply because I can do more with the picture while in it than with specialty programs. However, if you are already happy with the picture itself then I would go here and download the last really free version of Interactive JPEG Optimizer (version 5.02 if your interested).
IJO will let you load your picture and will show you a second version right next to it. For straight compression just move the slide bar at the top and IJO will show you both the new compressed picture and the download time it takes on a 56k modem

I am so sorry to tell you that I have not had time to play with it.
I have it downloaded and ready to try. I will get to it. I am just very slow.
I have a dozen other questions I want to ask you some day. My biggie is about Firefox, but when I get it asked, I will put it in the Firefox forum.

I have found IMGonline.com.ua to be an excellent online tool. The site says it is for jpeg images, but some of the tools such as "make-seamless" allow you to use png graphics.
I especially like the "make-seamless" tool which gives you six different methods of manipulating the picture!
